Get Out. Make New Friends.
Have Fun!

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get out of the house, make new friends and participate in exciting activities, then look no further. New Friends of Carolina (NFC) is what you’ve been looking for. Founded in 1989 as a not- for- profit social club for women, NFC welcomes both new comers to the Carolinas as well as those who have lived here for years.

There’s no need for concern about pressure. You’ll find the members of our club to be both friendly and welcoming. They simply want you to join in the activities and have some fun. There’s something for everyone. For a complete list of activities see INTEREST GROUPS below.Learn More

President's Message

I am honored to serve as President of NFC for the 2019-2020 year and I would like to thank each of you for the faith and confidence you have given me. I would also like to thank Kathy Consler and her Board and Interest Group Chairs for the tremendous job they did this past year. Tough shoes to fill! As I go forward, one of my goals is to treat each member with respect and to be diligent in taking into consideration the ideas and suggestions of both the members and board. Nothing would be possible, however, without the commitment of the wonderful women who will be working with me on the Board of Directors, the Standing Committee Chairs and our Interest Group Chairs. I am in awe of the talent we have in so many of our members. The Interest Group Chairs plan and provide something for everyone to do each month. Check out all of the activities in this Newsletter, sign up and participate in many of the events planned for the month. Have fun and enjoy! If you haven’t already heard or read about it, NFC was recently showcased in the Summer edition of Ballantyne Magazine. The article was outstanding and the photographs of our lovely members, even better! A significant amount of interest has been received and we are thrilled at the positive endorsement of our club! By now you will have received your renewal notice and hopefully have renewed your membership for the coming year. Dues remain at $35.00 and are due on or before July 1st. In the event anyone is having difficulty with the process, we are always ready and willing to help. Please contact Mickey Key, our new Vice President of Membership and computer expert extraordinaire for assistance. She’ll walk you through it in no time. Truth or Rumor It has come to our attention that several rumors regarding the club have been circulating; one especially disturbing is that we are “broke” or insolvent. Please read our treasurer, Dee Drobonick’s report, located in the “Extra, Extra” column to alleviate any concerns. Trust me, we are just fine. Rumor: A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth. Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you at one of the many events!
