The January luncheon is only two short weeks away!
Ten years ago Christopher Lawing started taking pictures of different signs around Charlotte for a photography assignment. This school project led him on a decade long journey of taking pictures of signs and learning the history behind them. He has since published his pictures in the book Charlotte: The Signs of the Times in 2017.
Lawing has now created the Charlotte Signs Project and has partnered with the Charlotte Museum of History to create an exhibit called "Charlotte: Signs of Home." Museum Development Director Lauren Wallace hopes that this project will bring back memories that we might have forgotten about and take us to a time and place in the last 20 to 50 years.
