Good morning, Friends!
- Reminder: Friday, October 9 @ 9 a.m. - registration begins for our Fall Social - Friendsgiving! We have space for 90 members so please consider attending for a great time. Also we encourage new members to attend for this is a great opportunity to meet our fun and welcoming members!
- Member, Ally Dantino, recommends a bird walk this coming Saturday at Colonel Francis Beatty Park in Matthews. Ally lives right across the street from the park and would be happy to meet anyone interested. Bring a friend and join Ally Saturday, October 10th, for a bird walk guided by Tony Lombardino, an avid birder who has lead many bird walks for visitors to the Rockefeller U. Field Research Center in Millbrook, NY and as a docent at the Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University. Something for all levels of birding – from beginning to advance! The walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last about 1 hour. Dress for the weather. They recommend waterproof shoes, long pants, and binoculars. Colonel Francis Beatty Park, 4330 Weddington Road, Matthews, NC 28105.

Chris Green and Lori Herzhauser will also assist with donation collections if you contact them. If you wish to order online and have the donations sent directly, you have two choices. You can also look at either of these websites to see what products are on the wish list.

- Crafty Adventures - 16 members including me attended the Caravaggio and Baroque Masterpieces Exhibit at the S. Tryon location of the Mint Museum this past Wednesday. I found the two original paintings by Caravaggio and the other Baroque masterpieces quite breathtaking, the imaging is quite extraordinary. The museum has their own parking garage so it's very easy to attend. You can get your parking ticket validated for 50% off parking cost with a ticket purchase. The exhibit is on loan only until the end of October if you want to see those lovely pieces of art. I had not been to this museum before so found that fascinating as well. The museum also has an extensive gift shop on the main level.
Have a great week everyone!
