Happy New Year and Welcome to 2026,
- This is a gentle reminder from the Chair of the Nominating Committee: "The recruiting of candidates must be managed by the Chair" (Monica Taft). If you are going to nominate a person for a position, please speak to them prior to nominating them to be sure they would accept a board role. Only the Chair (Monica Taft) will contact those whose names have been given for interest in a position. Nominations will be accepted until February 25th. After that time the Nominating Committee will reconvene to discuss all nominees to present a slate at the March Board Meeting for approval. This is a highly confidential process so all nominees are asked to keep their nomination in confidence and Nominating Committee members should not discuss any nominee names outside of meetings. This is to protect all members who have submitted their names. It may cause feelings to be hurt if a nominee thinks they will be named to the slate and then find out she has not been selected.

- Scrabble - Tuesday, January 6th at Whole Foods Waverly. Several spaces still available. See calendar event and register if you plan to attend.
- Scrabble Interest Chair - We are need of an interest chair beginning in March. Unfortunately Kim Thorpe will be leaving us in February. Please let Jeanne Deiger know if you would like to assume this position and she will provide the job description.
- Brews & Bites - Cancelled for January due to low attendance. If you were registered you will receive a cancellation e-mail.
- In the Know - Last call for Pharmacy in your Kitchen. Please see website event for details. January 16, 10:00 am Southpark Regional Library.
- January Luncheon - Zinicola Restaurant in Ballantyne. Please remember to bring your canned goods as we will have collection bins for Second Harvest at the event. Our speaker will also be from Second Harvest. Get out you winter coat and gloves, bundle up, and please plan to join us for a delicious meal and a very informative program.
- January Birthdays - Remember we celebrate birthdays at each luncheon with a small gift and recognition of your special day. Don't forget to signup for your birthday month.
