Get Out. Make New Friends.
Have Fun!

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get out of the house, make new friends and participate in exciting activities, then look no further. New Friends of Carolina (NFC) is what you’ve been looking for. Founded in 1989 as a not- for- profit social club for women, NFC welcomes both new comers to the Carolinas as well as those who have lived here for years.

There’s no need for concern about pressure. You’ll find the members of our club to be both friendly and welcoming. They simply want you to join in the activities and have some fun. There’s something for everyone. For a complete list of activities see INTEREST GROUPS below.Learn More

Joe Taylor, a retired actor, moves into a prison-turned-elder-care facility shortly after the demise of Medicare and election of Dick Cheney as President. He discovers a community of loveable, irascible inmates hell-bent on bucking the dehumanizing system in which they have landed. Together, this band of aging misfits rediscovers purpose and dignity.

A delightful comedy with bite that dares to confront the issue of aging in America.

President's Message

Happy New Year!  Wishing you all a healthy and safe start to the New Year.

As a New Year dawns we have a lot to look forward to in our club.  The Nominating Committee for 2019 has been announced (see ‘Attention Important Information’ in this newsletter). January is a time for reflection of what each one of us has accomplished in the last year and of setting goals for the new year. As you make your New Year’s resolutions, we hope one of those resolutions might be to become more active in the club and possibly take on a leadership position.  If you are ready to take that step, please contact Mickey Key, Chair of the Nominating Committee.

On Jan. 24th we will have our 30th Anniversary Luncheon at Firethorn Country Club.  We have planned an afternoon filled with reminiscing, trivia, games, pictures and fun!!  You won't want to miss this, sign up online now to reserve your spot!

Also, since we are celebrating NFC’s 30th Anniversary, I think January's theme should be “NFC Aware-ness”. This month, NFC Awareness means sharing with the community what we do as New Friends. Before we can explain New Friends to the community, we all need to take a moment to think about what NFC means to each of us. Why did you join NFC? What satisfaction are you getting from participating in NFC? What were your objectives in joining NFC? It is only by understanding why you are in NFC and what you get out of NFC, that you can successfully spread the news of NFC. Be thinking of all of this during January.

This month, let's share awareness of NFC by inviting a newcomer to the area, recent retiree or a friend to an NFC event. Make it a point to talk about NFC to all those you meet.
